the FOURTH Way Process

What is the Fourth Way?

The Fourth Way Process is about becoming deeply present to your life. When the ways of the body, emotions and mind come into alignment, a 4th Way activates that is marked by peace, purpose and power.

How differently would your spiritual journey feel if you didn’t have to improve yourself? What if your only work was becoming more deeply aware?

How it works

This work is based upon the assumption that our “normal” way of moving through the world is a kind of sleepwalking that few people actually perceive. Breaking this trance requires dedicated practice that has three focal points:

  1. We compassionately notice our habit forms

  2. We develop a subtle capacity to shift to a more expansive awareness of our mental, emotional and physical states

  3. We nurture an internal state of presence and inner spaciousness

LEARN MORE ABOUT FOURTH WAY GROUPS

It is deeply challenging to break through our patterns of sleepwalking. In this process, I work with people in Fourth Way Groups and individually to sustain a dedicated spiritual practice. This 4th Way work is about a relaxed, alert pattern of self-awareness rather than the self-improvement mindset that the ego often falls back on. It’s more about resisting and releasing patterns than efforting our way to change. It’s about letting go into a presence which becomes the wellspring of peace, power, and purpose.

The process consists of teachings and practices that are tailored for the group or individual. The material from these sessions is then integrated through practices, meditation, and reflection at home.

No two people will move through the material in the same way, and yet the Fourth Way Process is not mysterious and involves clear steps and thresholds.

Our process pays special attention to two often overlooked features of the Enneagram:

  1. The harmonizing of the three intelligence/energy centers: the body, heart, and head

  2. The spiritual pathway that is reflected in its esoteric geometry: The unique shapes represent four growth movements that relate to the enneagon, hexad, inner triangle, and outer circle. Each guides us to an expanding level of spiritual awareness.
